Which Coffee for a Batch Brewer?

Shared carafes love balance and sweetness with a smooth, rounded finish. Brewlab Candy from our partners at COFFEELAB comes in a 500 g bag with jammy sweetness, handy when you brew by the liter. Classic from HAYB adds chocolate, creamy nuts and a touch of dried fruit, and Juicy Fruit from COFFEE PLANT brings bright stone fruit.

What Makes a Good Drip Brew

Heat and grind decide everything. Look for an ECBC certified brewer that reaches 92 to 96°C, grind medium-coarse and weigh your coffee. A brew time of 4 to 6 minutes is normal. Too fine and the water gets stuck, too coarse and it tastes like tea.

Treat the Carafe Right

Never leave the pot on the hot plate, because within about 15 minutes it cooks the coffee into burnt acid. Pour into a thermal carafe instead. Rinse the paper filter and shake the basket flat, and your last cup tastes as good as the first.
