The story:
Our partners at DAK picked Lucky Cherry to celebrate their seventh anniversary. It comes from Kanggo in the Kintamani region of Bali, Indonesia, where Cobra grows at 1300 MASL. The team at Heqa ferments the cherries for 120 hours in a nitrogen-flushed anaerobic bioreactor, then dries them whole for 14 days under controlled conditions.
The taste:
Fruity, sweet and boozy, with black cherry, aged rum and blood orange in the lead. Red grapes add a juicy layer, and the cup feels playful from the first sip. The fermentation brings a rum-soaked sweetness, but the citrus keeps it lively, so it never turns heavy. It tastes like a fruit cocktail that happens to be a coffee.
The feeling:
Brew it in a Chemex or AeroPress and take your time, because the sweetness keeps unfolding as the cup cools. This is for anyone who likes a fun, boozy coffee with a party edge. If you prefer classic, clean profiles, look elsewhere. If you want a bag that makes a good gift or a good story, grab one.
