The story:
Gititu comes from Kiambu, Kenya, where the Gititu Farmers Cooperative has run its washing station since 1954. Only grade AA beans from Batian, Ruiru 11, SL28 and SL34 are used, grown at 1600 to 1700 m. The cherries are double washed, fermented for 12 to 24 hours and dried on raised beds. Our partners at Gringo Nordic roast it in Gothenburg.
The taste:
Grapefruit opens the cup with a bright, refreshing acidity, followed by sweet raspberry and a juicy finish of redcurrant. Hints of tea, grape and hibiscus add depth, while the fine berry sweetness keeps the lively acidity friendly and balanced. A classic Kenyan profile that feels clean, vivid and thirst-quenching from the first sip to the last.
The feeling:
Brew it in a V60, Chemex or Clever Dripper to keep the grapefruit crisp and the berries juicy. A lively coffee for bright mornings and for anyone who loves Kenyan fruit, backed by a cooperative with seven thousand members and a name that means big forest. Pour a second cup and notice how the sweetness grows.
